Awe and Wonder

My God created this.  This thought was at the surface of my mind all throughout last weekend.  As it was Easter weekend, we had no classes on Friday, so it was a much needed long weekend.  Most students went home to be with their families over the holiday, however, I was left at Moody.  A member of the remnant once again.  🙂  I had opportunities to go home with friends, but chose to enjoy a weekend of peace and reflection.  I did homework pretty much all day Friday, but made plans with Juan, Andrea, Andrew, and Brad to go hiking at Starved Rock on Saturday.  It was a gorgeous and sunny spring day.  We had a blast, and got to enjoy our time away from the city and the noise and distractions while simply enjoying each other’s company.  It was just what I needed to remind me that God is the creator of everything, and He is awesome.  My God created all of this… my God created all of this.  Every moment of reflection I took, brought me back to this thought.  I was great!  I haven’t felt this closeness with God in a long, long time, and being in His creation just made everything better.

Sunday morning brought the same thoughts.  Some of the members of Houghton 6 United and some of the guys from D1 (with one Culby guy) went down to the beach at sunrise to having a time of worship, prayer, and reflection of what Easter is really about.  It was fantastic, and again my thoughts went back to, my God created this… my God created all of this…  My God created the sun, moon, and stars.  He created the waterfalls, rocks, rivers, streams, and trees.  He knows my every thought.  He knows what I will do before I do it.  He loves me and hold me in His hands.  In the midst of everything, God’s got it.  My God created all of this.
