Looking Back

As I was doing homework today, I realized that I have been at the Moody Bible Institute for about 6 months now. So much has changed since I stepped onto this campus in August! As I think back, I can’t help but chuckle at some of the things that I had fears or hesitations about. Walking around Chicago alone, taking CTA, and living away from home were things that I never thought I would get used to. But I have. I don’t even think twice about wandering the city or taking CTA. Yes, I do miss my family desperately most of the time, and I really wish that I could see them more often. But honestly, I love living in Chicago! I love getting to experience Moody and all of the opportunities that this college has to offer! In the last 6 months I have:
-Gotten stuck in the rain with some pretty awesome people
-Made the best friend I could have even asked for… by getting us lost
-Seen a new friend get married to the love of his life
-Pulled too many all nighters in an effort to finish OT papers on time
-Spent many hours talking with my RA while she works
-Made amazing friends
-Gotten lost in a not so great area with my roommate (her fault not mine) 😉
-Made it through my first set of college finals
-Spent far too many hours in Crowell library
-Gone all the way down to 95th and Dan Ryan on the Red line
-Ushered my way through my first Moody Founder’s Week
-Been a part of Rafaela Dance Ministries on campus
-Managed to sprain both of my ankles at once… just don’t ask…
There are so many other amazing things that I could write down as well, but I would be here forever. 😉
My time here at Moody has just been so amazing! I can’t thank God enough for allowing me to come and study here! For the first two months when I woke up in the morning I would pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, and then promptly praised God for allowing me to come here. There have been some rough patches here and there, but in the end, I know that God has me here for a reason. For that I can’t thank Him enough.
